INFICON increases its sales by 15.9 per cent in 2023

Bad Ragaz/Balzers - INFICON increased its sales by 15.9 per cent in 2023. The company achieved sales of $673.7 million in full-year 2023, and sales in the fourth quarter rose by 9.5 per cent to reach $174.5 million.
INFICON achieved sales of $673.7 million in 2023. According to a press release issued by the global measurement technology company, which is based in Bad Ragaz in the canton of St.Gallen and has a site in Balzers, Liechtenstein, this represents a rise of 15.9 per cent year on year. Excluding positive currency effects of 1.2 percentage points, this is equal to an organic increase of 8.3 per cent. Sales in the fourth quarter rose by 9.5 per cent to reach $174.5 million. Looking ahead to full-year 2024, INFICON is expecting sales of $650 million to $700 million, with an operating profit margin of around 20 per cent.
In a challenging market environment, INFICON recorded robust sales of $82.1 million in its largest target market of Semi and Vacuum Coating (47.1 per cent of Group sales). This figure is down slightly (-2.1 per cent) year on year. The General Vacuum market made the strongest contribution to sales growth in the fourth quarter, generating $53.3 million (30.6 per cent of Group sales). Sales in the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Automotive market climbed 13.1 per cent to $30.5 million.
Gross profit for full-year 2023 was $309.6 million, which gives a slightly improved margin of 46.0 per cent. The net result for 2023 increased by 19.8 per cent to $106.0 million, or 15.7 per cent of sales. Earnings per share rose to $45.37, up from $36.30 in the previous year. Operating cash flow was $118.2 million for full-year 2023, up from $46.2 million in fiscal year 2022.
The Board of Directors will propose an ordinary dividend of 20 francs to the Annual General Meeting on April 4.
