Technopark Graubünden exceeds expectations

18 November 2021

At the end of the first year of its existence, Technopark Graubünden was officially opened on Wednesday. There, Member of the Cantonal Government Marcus Caduff commented that major technology issues for the Rhine valley region are being tackled together with Technopark Liechtenstein.

Technopark Graubünden has a successful first business year under its belt. According to a press release, President of the Board Rudolf Minsch stated during the celebrations for the official opening on Wednesday that the targets had been significantly exceeded. To date, nine startups with 16 employees are settled at Technopark Graubünden. Minsch noted that it would take several years for Technopark Graubünden to successfully become established but it is “on the right course”.

According to the press release, Technopark Graubünden relies on strong, national networking. Deputy Prime Minister of Liechtenstein Sabine Monauni referred to the importance of collaboration between Technopark Liechtenstein as a founding member and Technopark Graubünden: “I am delighted that the two Technoparks in Liechtenstein and Graubünden work so closely and purposefully with regard to startup promotion. The entire region can benefit from this.” Member of the Cantonal Government Marcus Caduff also commented that major technology issues for the region are being tackled together with Technopark Liechtenstein.

Companies based in the area, such as Trumpf Switzerland, Hamilton Group, Cedes, and Integra Biosciences are said to have signed collaboration agreements. They will provide the startups with their expertise. Partnerships with educational and research institutes such as the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons and CSEM have also been made to support them. More are expected to follow.
