The University of Liechtenstein has received an accreditation from AACSB for its excellent quality. This global accolade recognizes the university’s academic achievements and boosts Liechtenstein’s competitiveness as a location for business.
According to a press release, the Business School and Business Law School at the University of Liechtenstein have received the AACSB accreditation, which is highly regarded internationally, for their high level of quality in research, teaching, further education and transfer.
The AACSB is one of the most important independent accreditation agencies for business schools. According to the press release, part of the inspection process, which took several years, was a visit from deans from the U.S., Belgium and Germany, during which 80 members of the university were asked about its mission, strategy, teaching, lecturers, research activities, relevance to practice, and impact on business and society.
The committee of experts were positive about the “close links with companies and government partners, collegial atmosphere, and very committed employees”. They also praised the “committed and enthusiastic students”, who have access to “varied career opportunities at Liechtenstein companies”.
“Our country and region can benefit from this reputation as a location for business, education and innovation,” says Rector Christian Frommelt. The press release explains that a total of six universities in Switzerland are accredited by AACSB, including the Universities of St.Gallen and Zurich. Austria and Germany have three and 13 accredited educational institutions respectively. Accreditation is evidence of a university’s attractive teaching and research programs and opens up opportunities for students to take part in exchange semesters at renowned institutions.
