Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce planning to further decrease bureaucracy

The Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce has held its Annual General Meeting. Participants were informed about the improved working capital situation and goals for 2021, among other aspects of business. Moreover, the establishment of a casino association was also approved.
The Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce increased its working capital in 2019 by 49,714 Swiss francs to 1,090,571 Swiss francs in comparison with the previous year, according to a press release. Participants at the Annual General Meeting, which had been postponed from May until October due to the coronavirus crisis, received information regarding the annual financial statements for 2019 in addition to the chamber’s activities between January and October 2020. In addition, the challenges to be confronted over the next 12 months were also outlined. These include further reducing the level of bureaucracy in Liechtenstein. This is also one of the fields of action defined by the Chamber of Commerce. The creation of impulses for the economy in addition to revitalization by way of a communications drive represent two additional fields of action. Furthermore, the Annual General Meeting also moved to approve the establishment of a casino association for the Principality of Liechtenstein. As detailed in another press release, the casinos in Ruggell, Schaanwald, Triesen and Balzers have now merged to form their own section of the Chamber of Commerce. Birgit Wimmer, Chair of the Board of Directors of Casinos Admiral in Ruggell and Triesen, has been named the first President of the association. Objectives of the association include supporting the sustainable development of the industry, while new members are also invited to join the association as well.
