INFICON continues on growth course
INFICON was able to increase its year-on-year sales in 2020. Its semiconductor business in particular proved to be a driver of growth. For operating and net profit, the measurement technology company with a manufacturing facility in Balzers, Liechtenstein saw slight year-on-year decreases.

The University of Liechtenstein and formatio Private School are together investigating how the concept of self-leadership can be integrated in the school curriculum. Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG (LLB) is getting a new Group Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors has appointed Gabriel Brenna as successor to Roland Matt. Brenna will take up the new position on 1 March.

Roger Barmettler named CFO of the VP Bank Group
The Board of Directors of the VP Bank Group have appointed Roger Barmettler as Chief Financial Officer of the Group. Barmettler is currently Head of Group Finance, although he has also been acting as Interim CFO of the VP Bank Group since last June. Before joining the VP Bank Group, Barmettler worked at banks including UBS and Credit Suisse.

Swiss Exchange attests to VP Bank sustainability
VP Bank AG has been added to the SIX sustainability indices by the Swiss Exchange. This makes the bank one of 139 companies listed in the SPI ESG and SPI ESG Weighted index family.

Swiss stock exchange includes LLB in sustainability indices
Liechtensteinische Landesbank (LLB) and the LLB Group subsidiary Bank Linth meet the criteria for inclusion on the sustainability indices of the Swiss SIX stock exchange. Shares in both banks have now been listed on the SPI ESG, SPI ESG Weighted and SBI ESG indices.

University of Liechtenstein celebrates 10-year anniversary
Founded in 1961 as an Abendtechnikum, the University of Liechtenstein gradually developed into a full-fledged university over time. This year, the University of Liechtenstein celebrates ten years as an official university. There are plans in place to hold birthday celebrations over the summer at the earliest.

Liechtenstein exports down one sixth in 2020
In 2020, the economic total of Liechtenstein exports fell by around one sixth versus the prior year. Direct imports were down a little less. However, signs of a partial recovery were observed in the fourth quarter.

Pandemic causes sales decline at Hilti
Hilti’s sales for 2020 were 9.6 percent lower than in the previous year. The tool manufacturer from Schaan puts this down to the coronavirus pandemic and the appreciation of the Swiss franc. Business already started to improve in the final quarter of 2020.

LGT Bank AG has appointed Roland Matt as its new CEO. The current CEO of Liechtensteinische Landesbank (LLB) will succeed Roland Schuber at LGT with effect from the start of 2022. LLB has named Urs Müller as interim CEO with immediate effect.
