Passengers award LIEmobil good marks

1 March 2024

Schaan - More than nine in ten passengers using public transport in Liechtenstein are satisfied with the services on offer. Nearly as many also award good marks to the value for money of LIEmobil services. These are findings from a survey carried out by the transport company. However, a need for action has also been identified in terms of missed connections.

Passengers using LIEmobil (Verkehrsbetrieb Liechtensteinmobil) services have awarded good marks to the Liechtenstein public transport authority. Out of the total of 448 passengers surveyed in two waves, 61 percent of respondents stated that they were very satisfied with the services of LIEmobil, with an additional 33 percent of respondents being generally satisfied. “This excellent feedback from our customers is thanks to the daily commitment of our transport operators, their drivers, employees working at authorities and in the communities as well as the LIEmobil team as a whole”, comments Sigvard Wohlwend, member of the executive management team and head of communications at LIEmobil, in a press release issued by the public transport authority.

The scores for cleanliness of the bus stops and value for money were also very impressive. In total, 95 percent of respondents stated that they were either very or generally satisfied with the cleanliness of the bus stops. Moreover, 91 percent of respondents were generally to very satisfied with the value for money offered by LIEmobil services.

However, the survey does reveal a need for action when it comes to missed connections. In this instance, the proportion of dissatisfied respondents has grown from 8 percent to 15 percent year on year. LIEmobil primarily puts this situation down to the increased use of private transport since the end of Covid-19 mitigation measures.

“It does bother us when we are unable to fulfil the expectations of LIEmobil customers due to an abundance of traffic jams at rush hour”, Wohlwend comments. LIEmobil will continue with its efforts to improve this situation by focusing on factors that can be influenced, such as optimizing its timetables and improving communications between drivers.
