The European postal association PostEurop has awarded the Runner-Up Prize of its Innovation Award to Liechtensteinische Post for its crypto stamp. The stamp with a face value of 5.20 Swiss francs is based on blockchain.

LGT filtering CO2 out of the air with the help of Climeworks
LGT has tasked Climeworks AG with removing 9,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. The Zurich-based start-up and Liechtenstein private bank have now signed a contract for a period of ten years to this end.

Banking center raising funds for COVAX project
The Liechtenstein Bankers Association is calling for the country’s banking center to support the COVAX project. The donation campaign will run until 21 January 2022, enabling UNICEF to provide vaccinations to people in low-income countries. People outside the banking center can also participate in the fundraising campaign.

LLB seeking to become Liechtenstein’s first climate-neutral bank
Liechtensteinische Landesbank (LLB) is planning to operate on a climate-neutral basis before the end of this year. Greenhouse gas emissions will be offset by investments in climate projects. By 2040, emissions generated by banking operations and products will be reduced to net zero.
