Bangkok - The EFTA member states of Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland have made significant progress in the eighth round of negotiations with Thailand for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The two parties are now hopeful that negotiations can be successfully concluded before the end of this year.

Ruggell - Lian Management is working towards establishing the Swiss payment solution Twint in Liechtenstein. However, regulatory obstacles must first be cleared. The company, which is headquartered in Liechtenstein, presently offers payment solutions in partnership with the Emmen-based payment service provider Sitto Payment.

Schaan - The Hilti Group’s global sales increased by nine per cent in local currencies in 2023, meaning the tools manufacturer from Schaan outperformed the market. Southern Europe proved to be the main growth driver.

Schaan - As planned, the tools manufacturer Hilti has been CO2-neutral within its own business activities since the end of 2023. Compared to 2019, the Group reduced its emissions by 60 per cent. Going forward, the goal is to further reduce emissions across the entire value chain.

LGT Private Banking is advancing its plans to expand its footprint in Germany by opening a location in Frankfurt am Main. New branches in Düsseldorf and Cologne were both only opened at the beginning of 2024, although Hamburg has been home to an LGT Private Banking office since 2022.

The Liechtensteinische Landesbank (LLB) launched local operations in Germany at the start of January 2024. The new offices in Munich, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf will offer investment advice and asset management. They will employ a total of 40 people.
