Asset management maintains growth course
As at the end of June 2020, 106 companies were active in the area of asset management in Liechtenstein. When compared with 2019, the total number is therefore unchanged. However, the sector has secured new money inflow of around 1.1 billion Swiss francs.

Liechtenstein ranks highly for research
In 2019, Liechtenstein was ranked as one of the world’s most research-intensive countries. In specific terms, Liechtenstein spent 5.6% of its GDP on research and development activities. Overall, 98 percent of the total of 375.4 million Swiss francs invested internally is attributable to private companies.

The Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce has held its Annual General Meeting. Participants were informed about the improved working capital situation and goals for 2021, among other aspects of business. Moreover, the establishment of a casino association was also approved.

Hilti construction robot for demanding tasks
Hilti has introduced its first robot for semi-autonomous mobile ceiling-drilling. The robot can be navigated via remote control and helps mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation contractors tackle demanding overhead work.

LLB receives award for healthy working conditions
The Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG (LLB) has successfully passed an assessment carried out by Health Promotion Switzerland. On Tuesday it became the first financial institution and second company in Liechtenstein to be officially allowed to call itself a “Friendly Work Space”.

Liechtenstein launches stamp made of recycled plastic
The Liechtensteinische Post is launching a new postage stamp embroidered from recycled PET thread. Philately Liechtenstein is issuing the “Globe” stamp to promote the recovery of recyclable materials from waste. A share of the proceeds will flow into the Global Field Plus project.

Hilcona starts the carrot harvest
Schaan – In the fields surrounding the Hilcona factory, the harvest of baby carrots has started. This year, a total of 39 producers have been growing carrots for the convenience specialist on 90 hectares of land. Potatoes are being cultivated on a further 85 hectares.
